66512 2002-07-30 10:26:00 Hi Sam,
The site looks good. In your first paragraph you say 'before you go any where' any where is one word as in anywhere. Just a minor thing.

66513 2002-07-31 04:46:00 Hi Sam H.

Have just been doing a quick tour of some of your site. As someone has already said "Awesome"

Have mainly looked at your Q & A section. Easy to read and instructions are easy to follow as well which is good.

Everyone else seems to have checked all the spelling etc so I will just say:

Congratulations, you have obviously spent a lot of time on this and are to be congratulated.

Iris

PS Can someone help me with how to use the formatting option. It just won`t work for me at all.

66514 2002-07-31 06:01:00 Iris: do you mean the Formatting Options when replying here?
Here's an example:
"pre" works like this, see?

What produced this posting up to here was like this. (I have used "{" and "}" instead of "[" and "]", so the system doesn't convert everything):

{b} Iris: {/b}do you mean the {b}{u}Formatting Options {/u}{/b} when replying {i} here? {/i} {pre} "pre" works like {b} this {/b} {/pre} see?

Practice ... makes purrfect.

66515 2002-07-31 06:25:00 Thanks for reply Graham L .

I know I can be prrrrrreeeeeeeetty thick at times and this certainly seems to be one of those times .

I can`t get the hang of it and don`t want to take up any more room on Sam`s posting

(Profuse apologies Sam H for butting into your page with my query)

66516 2002-07-31 11:21:00 Hey Iris, Sam won't mind you borrowing his post to learn new tricks, will you Sam? :-)

If I understand you correctly, you are wanting to know how to make your text bold or italised, right?

'Tis easy. When you've got the Reply window open click on the "Formatting Options" just above where you are typing. Another window will open, just like the Emoticon window does.

Now, say you want to do the bold text. Copy and paste (or just type) the [ b ][ /b ] "tags" in the left side of the Formatting Options table. Note that I've put spaces in mine otherwise the tags will disappear and my text will be bold and you won't see what I'm talking about. You musn't have spaces in your formatting text. To clarify what you are doing, the [ b ] tells the browser that the text following is to be bold, and the [ / b ] tells the browser that it is to end the bold there.

OK, now you just type the text you want to be bold in between those brackets, like this: [ b ] Type in here will be bold [ /b ]

That's all there is to it. Do the same with the other formatting options - whatever is typed between the tags will be formatted.
