| 66413 | 2002-08-03 04:12:00 | Just an update as to what the sites are likely to feature: Disk space: 10 megs (sorry, due to initial demand this is all I can spare at this stage) Bandwidth limit: Yes there will be a limit, but it shouldn't affect most users - the cap will be decided later. FTP access: 1 user Password protected directories: http authentication (very secure) Java, Perl, C++, PHP 4 support Front Page Extensions (yes, but not recommended) CGI's - your own folder, with probably some pre-installed scripts Graphic web stats and raw logs (no need for an amateurish visit counter) POP3 email: 2 accounts Webmail Mail filters - this one's a beaut - customize your own bounced mail message MySql - 1 database Extra server space and bandwidth available at a cost (low, to be decided if there's a demand) I've now set up the domain hostnz.co.nz, therefore your site will be yourname.hostnz.co.nz. I'll email all users once I've set them up. I expect to ultimately automate the process, but that's a bit ahead yet - I'm kinda learning as I go here. Cheerz |

More server space - yes, that's a goer, but depends a bit on a few variables - at this stage I suspect if you need more there won't be any additional cost, as long as it's not dozens of megs more than the allocation. Remember that this is still beta. Hope you feel better soon! |
