Anyone know of any software that enables my computer to respond to calls and record messages (like call minder) while I am online (i.e. my phone line is engaged?? |

As far as I know, this is not possible in NZ as yet. It works with co-operation with the telco company. Our telco co. is not co-operative yet.

even if the new v.92 ? was available, I doubt the software would release your modem. Its designed to "put on hold" the modems at each end and temporarily release the line for voice. What you want to do is "dump" the connection to the modem and use it for "answerphone" duties then somehow reconnect to your modem and continue. I certainly wouldnt hold your breath for that happening! Not impossible just unlikely. |
