66594 2002-07-29 23:41:00 Can any one out there help, this is my daughters computer, it has a problem on starting up and when it starts up it stays only for about 5 minutes then it turns it's self off, (does not go through the proper closing procedure). On restarting it, it tries to start but wont, it's like starting a car with a 1/2 flat battery, doesn't quite make it. the other thing it dose is if it's left on after it has turned it's self off, it fires it's self up on it own accord. 66595 2002-07-30 00:02:00 better describe the exact process, including any error messages.

What operating system? (win 98, ME etc)

When booting up, explain the exact things that happen.

66596 2002-07-30 00:52:00 Check the power switch. I've had this before, and it went through 3 other techs before I found it was a faulty power switch. Elwin Way (229)
