The thing is when you restart the computer the monitor does not come back on,the light on the monitor stays on (Green) but the screen is black....

That do you think?????

67181 2002-08-01 00:50:00 Restart Like this CLICK-start - turn off computer - Restart.

Restarting in windows and if you in stall some thing and it says restart and you click yes to restart.Restarting from windows..

67183 2002-08-01 01:19:00 assumeing you have windows XP i would guess that its either a bug in XP (service pack 1 is due to be released shortly) (i do take you have done your windows updates?) or a setup problem. the last pccomp i looked at had a fairly customised setup, mayby they missed something. sorry i'm not really a pro on winXP. tweak'e (174)
67184 2002-08-01 01:59:00 Its all in the timing of events, it has occurred under windows 95,98,ME as well. No reason XP should be different?

The monitor goes into standby mode at (almost) the same instant the computer restarts and the monitor misses the restart signal.

Its really no biggie, I just powered off the monitor and powered it back on again after a few seconds, and everyone was happy. Its the characteristics of the devices conflicting, not an actual fault.

67185 2002-08-01 02:32:00 GodFather it does not get to standby mode the monitor stays on the light stays green but screen is black,I have to turn the monitor of and on again.

67186 2002-08-01 03:12:00 Then take it back, try a different brand of monitor. Something in the monitor is going into standby, or it would not respond to power off and on. Perhaps the video amplifiers shutdown ahead of the EHT, and you are caught in that gap. godfather (25)
