Your work one will be NT/2000 most likely, therefore you would need a multi-user environment operating system such as NT/2000/XP Pro at home? This doesnt suggest how its done (don't know), only that its highly likely you will need to have levels of security at log-on to allow it to happen? |

A lot of businesses seem to be getting in the habit of cutting down all available options on workstations. My last place of employment had us on Winlinx Terminals, which meant that we couldn't modify the desktop, right click on anything, download anything, configure in any way at all. if you go to choose internet options and it has been disabled by your administrator, it should say so. something like "You do not have sufficient rights to administer changes on this machine. Please contact your administrator". if it doesnt say that, i don't know. you may have some spooky PC poltergeist. |
