ABIT has announced that it will outsource production of two low-end boards in it's range to Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), who they recently purchased a majority share in . Here's a bit more: Given the effectiveness of the operating model so far, Abit said that it would not rule out letting ECS handle all of its board production in the future . Faced with various market rumours, the second-tier board maker for the first time elaborated on its cooperation with ECS . ABIT said that after trial production in June, it formally outsourced production of its first low-price motherboard to ECS this month, which is estimated to account for 10% of Abit’s motherboard shipments . In August, it will release orders of another model to ECS, contributing another 15-20% of shipments . To expand its business scope, ABIT decided to launch low-price products this year, following the lead of Asustek Computer and Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry) . Windows XP SP1 build 1081 has been released to testers . This is the same version that was leaked last week and in terms of the sign off dates for the Service Pack, Microsoft still looks to be on track for a late August release . Macromedia and Adobe have reconciled their differences that surfaced in recent court cases and have signed a settlement agreement to put the matter to rest . The two companies stated that customers with products from either Adobe or Macromedia would not be affected by the settlement . The settlement revolves around several US patents that each said the other had breached . Adobe's original suit said Macromedia was given no right to employ such technology, which the plaintiff claims is scheduled to roll out as a feature in Macromedia's Flash 5 . 0 software . Macromedia counter-sued a few hours later . In May, a jury ruled in favour of Adobe resulting in $US2 . 8 million .
