67175 2002-08-01 04:00:00 The X that you mention in (2) that closes the 'folder tree' is the one that GF is referring to (action is indentical to 'unclicking' the Folders Icon). When the folders are not displayed, you should have a number of Menus shown in their place. In the top menu "File and Folder Tasks" you should have "Publish this folder to the web" as an option. wuppo (41)
67176 2002-08-01 04:58:00 Wuppo.. no unfortunately I don't have the Menus displayed in their place when I have closed the folders view (unclicking' the Folders Icon). There is nothing there at all (Publish this folder to the web). I did a full instillation of XP so I'm at a loss as to why it isn't showing. :-) PressF1 User (1065)
67177 2002-08-01 05:38:00 Dont use classic view, use "show common tasks in folders"

After all its a Task you want to see, so enable it.

The wizard is in mine OK but under classic view it will never show.

67178 2002-08-01 05:42:00 Success!!

Somehow (???) the defaults had been changed. I went into Tools + Folder Options + Restore Defaults and bingo, there was the 'Folder and Folder Tasks' along with 'Publish this file to the web' clearly displayed. Well not through lack of trying, finally got there!!!

Thanks to all who posted, great bunch of people who use this forum. Cheers all :-) :-) :-)
