66960 2002-07-31 06:05:00 of course, it doesn't HAVE to be in the same folder... you can use either a relative or absolute path name in the IMG tag...
like this....
./subfolder/subfolder2/imagename.jpg
this is "relative" by the way...

66961 2002-07-31 06:07:00 I thought mine was pretty minimal effort (on my part anyway): Says it all, really (http://laputa.orcon.net.nz/).

You cheated, Heather. I can cause the PressF1 server to fail, too (nosite.nowhere.net/).

66962 2002-07-31 06:11:00 Did not too!

I tried to look at a couple of the previous links and came up with a blank page so had a go at the url code (and stuffed it up). Page is here:
www.1112.net

66963 2002-07-31 06:42:00 I see, Heather, I was assuming malice, when it was simple incompetence. ;-) That's how I discovered it too. :D But I used preview, clicked on the processed url, fixed it and got in a dig at you. B-) Graham L (2)
66964 2002-07-31 07:04:00 Hang on Cadifan, with a Celtic sounding name like that who are you to criticise the English language? :O

You cannot get back to any more basic English than æ, and I should know, near to where I lived as a teenager, a place called Old Hill, the locals still spoke Old English, no kidding.

I liked marks web site, plain, simple, fast, just like they used to be, excellent.

66965 2002-07-31 07:47:00 Graham,

Thank you for your vote of confidence. Much appreciated I'm sure...

Me malicious? Not usually... it's such a waste of energy... and there are far more entertaining ways of using spare energy...

66966 2002-07-31 11:33:00 Mark, I once knew a Lyn Dawson - can you give a few more details about her? It's probably a fairly common name but it would be really good if she was the same one I knew. Susan B (19)
66967 2002-07-31 15:50:00 Just trying to be helpful, On your index page I thought your
<h3><font color=#804040> was a bit strange so I went too http://validator . w3 . org/ and I think maybe you should take it up from there . Otherwise you will learn bad habits .

PART 2
Personally I would drop the <font> and stick with <h3> you can do a lot more with it like DHTML or cascading style sheets (css) .

try this

<style type="text/css">
h3 . darkred {color:#804040}
</style>

</head>
<body>
<h3 class="darkred">

66968 2002-07-31 21:31:00 whoah, I wouldn't get too complicated too soon. start with html, then work your way up. codegirl (1038)
66969 2002-07-31 22:30:00 > "Reference" is spelt "reference"; not "Referenence".

Oh i c. Thanks Graham. I have no prob with 'modern' spelling. Never yet met an English Lang purist who spoke like Chaucer.
