67407 2002-08-01 11:51:00 A new security issue with IE has been found, this time it involves IE and .xla. If an IE user visits a specially designed web page, the page may create almost arbitrary files on his computer. This may lead to executing arbitrary programs on the user's computer. Here is an unofficial solution to the problem:
In IE disable "Run ActiveX controls and plugins"
Have not tested this personally but probably works:
Deregister & delete the ms office spreadsheet component &/or all the OWC. This may be done from:
ControlPanel - Add/Remove programs - Office - Change (then look for OWC)

The Inquirer is reporting that despite denials from AMD on the production of 333MHz FSB CPU's a few months ago, it now seems that they may do so. The increase in FSB may happen in conjunction with the release of the 2400+ and 2600+ sometime before the end of the year. This must in response to the ever widening gap in speed between the Athlon and Pentium 4. You can read more over at The Inquirer (www.theinquirer.net).
