67376 2002-08-01 09:49:00 Most people you deal with on the net, either here or other places are nice, reasonable people. But what happens when you come across someone who is downright rude and insulting? Are there any quasi legal ways of getting revenge on someone who is not a nice online person and deserves to learn a lesson?

I am looking for some suggestions. I have come across someone who utterly deserves to be punished (no, not Tim, and not on PressF1) and even though I should let it go, I want revenge so bad it hurts.

I read somewhere that you control someone that you anger. If that is true, I am being very controlled and it makes me more angry.

Ideas? Or am I being immature and sad and I should just let it go?

There's always anonymous email-bombing... ICQ Nuking... and that sort of thing... doesn't do anything overly damaging, just is INCREDIBLY annoying to the user :)

67378 2002-08-01 10:04:00 Robo, I don't know if they are quasi legal ways and not all of them are via the internet but you may get some ideas, check out this site.

I cannot be held responsible for the information found on this website, if you think you will be offended then don't click the link.

67379 2002-08-01 10:06:00 Well if you can get hold of a lock of his/her hair and some nail clippings, you could make this doll that ... um nevermind. Your normally so laid back Robo, the person that has wronged you must be nasty indeed. parry (27)
67380 2002-08-01 10:08:00 robo. that's not very nice for someone to be hassling you online.

What exactly is it that this person is doing? If it's kind of best not mentioned here, feel free to email me and let me know if you want.

If you know their email address you could always dish them up a nice serving of spiced ham ;)

If it's at a forum or some other place where you need to be a member. Talk to the supperiors and I'm sure they will be booted out with in the hour.

67381 2002-08-01 10:10:00 Voodoo would be fun.....

Most people are fair, reasonable, and nice. This person seems to take great delight in insulting people and trying to impress people with their ability to insult and bullshit while spelling badly. They also supposedly get mad at software pirates while selling NFR product which is basically the same thing. A nasty person.
Not like we ge here.

67385 2002-08-01 10:59:00 How could anyone do such a thing to our Robo? :-(

I can only imagine what it must feel like as I've only once been upset by someone on the net, fortunately.

Personally, I think the only way to deal with it is to send them just one curt reply telling them how distasteful they are then ignore them. People hate being ignored, especially the attention-seeking ones, and that's the ultimate punishment you can give them. It only encourages them if you respond and by not doing so you are displaying far more maturity than they are.

Go and run around the block ten times then you'll be too tired to think about him/her.
