67845 2002-08-03 22:33:00 Stand corrected if Im wrong, but the free AVG only checks outgoing mail if you are using Outlook (Express). Since I dont have Outlook or OE, I'm not too sure, but it doesnt work with the email client I use. I was wondering whether the Pro version does include more email clients? Terry Porritt (14)
67846 2002-08-03 23:03:00 Thanks. Do you get Email notice of these? I used to, but not any more, so rely on your good deeds.

67847 2002-08-04 00:20:00 No Peter H,Ijust check every day,

I also check NAV,Adaware & Outpost and post accordingly.

I notice that Adaware hasn't updated signature files for a while,so downloaded the new version of SpyBot which found 3 bits of spyware that Adaware doesn't find.
I inadvertantly deleted a few cookies that I usually keep so that I can log-on to the likes of PressF1 automatically, but will exclude those when i get them back

67849 2002-08-04 03:02:00 AVG can be configured to check once every day at a set time for updates.

I have mine set for 9pm, and if I am online the AVG window will flash up for a couple of seconds to advise me that I am current. If there is an update it will automatically download and install it.

If I am not using my computer at 9pm for a day or two, I click on the taskbar icon and do a manual check before using email.

67850 2002-08-04 03:21:00 Kiwitas, this AVG software seems to pick up most things, even built in product code.

It has picked up an embedded COM.EXE in 3 Lotus program files, which SARC states is not a virus.

This mornings update has put a file called DC163 & DC164 from the Recycled bin into it's vault.

Anybody please, what is a DF163 file ??.

Thanks for any clues.
