67820 2002-08-03 09:55:00 After installing an 853MB hard drive (Western Digital Caviar 2850), Windows XP Home announced in the found new hardware box that the filter drivers for the drive were invalid, and the drive may not work. The drive works fine, but the message is really annoying, as it comes up every time you boot. Please help me! George687 (1324)
67821 2002-08-03 10:08:00 Dont know if it will help, but the original driver disk is available for download at:
www.storagedrivers.com

There is a generic logon (drivers) and password (all) to access the file
-dont enter the brackets-

67823 2002-08-03 10:47:00 I use win98 on it (multiboot by changing the order of boot in bios)

There is no problem within win98. Only XP complains.

67824 2002-08-04 02:53:00 NOTE FROM ME:

The drive works in XP proffesionall (on my friend's computer), and a Quantum Bigfoot 2.1GB drive in this XP Home computer had the same problem.

67825 2002-08-04 03:39:00 sounds like a BIOS difference?, your BIOS may not natively recognise older drives perhaps, but the other computer does. godfather (25)
