| 67669 | 2002-08-03 23:33:00 | While I'm here, Iris I'm puzzled as to why all your apostrophes are strange. Are you using the character alongside the number one on the top row of your keyboard? If so, that's the wrong one. The correct one is two keys to the right of the L key, which is next to Enter on my keyboard. Thanks for this small correction Susan. Afraid I've been using the wrong one all this time. | 67670 | 2002-08-04 02:12:00 | You can format "d" & "e" without losing doze. and if you have a significant %age of your data stored in there, there will be advantages in doing it, but in essence all you will have done is the ultimate defragg on your D&E partitions Normally we only defragg BECAUSE the operating system and/or programmes are getting so screwwy that it is time for a total clean out. Then we reformatt, and then reinstall everything. To compare it to a building, reformatt is the equivalent of running a bulldozer through the land and rebuilding. This may be easyer if the building is structurly rotten, but a silly thing to do to fix a hole in the wall or a leaky tap. |

If you reformat you will lose ALL content, just as Heather said above. You will have to get the disks that windows was installed from and start again. If you haven't done this B4 it will be a good learning curve. either 1. back up what you can 2. reformat 3. reinstall everything 4. rebuild what you couldn't back up or put up with it as is, complete with whatever problems the system may have or fix the problems one at a time. Teachme/timyang I am happy to give my time and take you seriously IF you make the effort yourself. However if you ask anymore questions on this topic that show you have not read what me or others have bothered to tell you, i shall do what most everyone else has done and give up on you. |

But I feel that the name teachme should have been blocked from being registered in the first place. There are others similar which should also be blocked. |
