67659 2002-08-03 04:08:00 Formatting completey removes everything on the drive and replaces it with a nice big empty space.

You will lose windows.
You will lose all programs.
You will lose all data.

Moving programs to another drive means they may no longer run.

A FAQ is a frequently asked question. There is a FAQ on how to reformat. READ IT!

67661 2002-08-03 04:32:00 Tim,

You came here either for advice or to annoy. As you appear to be ignoring the advice then it is suggested you do the following:

Do NOT back up any files.
Do NOT back up any programs.
Do NOT back up any data.
Do NOT read the FAQ.

DO open my computer and reformat the drive.

67662 2002-08-03 06:35:00 That was a bit mean :O

Tim, if you came here asking for advice listen to what is given to you.
You cannot format without wiping the data. Backup anything you want before you format.

67663 2002-08-03 07:04:00 Nah, Aggy, it's not mean, Teachme asks for advice, ignores it, and knows better.

Good one Heather, we can just hope that this time he/she takes your advice, then we wont be troubled by him/her for some time.

67664 2002-08-03 22:03:00 I know you people have almost limitless patience (just have to look at all the help I`ve been given) but I do have to wonder how much longer you are going to put up with this person.

I realize he/she might be genuine (at times) and you are all giving him/her the benefit of the doubt for which I give you all full credit. Just wish the person would read and follow instructions or just stop bothering everyone.

Hope I`m not sounding too mean, blame it on the weather. It is cold and wet here in the Heart of Kiwifruit Land. :D

As you can see I have finally come to grips with not only emoticons but the formatting options too. :^O :^O All thanks to everyone`s help

Regards,

Iris

67665 2002-08-03 22:18:00 Well said Iris, my sentiments exactly . I am highly sceptial that Tim Yang is geniune .

While I'm here, Iris I'm puzzled as to why all your apostrophes are strange . Are you using the character alongside the number one on the top row of your keyboard?

If so, that's the wrong one . The correct one is two keys to the right of the L key, which is next to Enter on my keyboard .

Here is the difference:

apostrophe alongside #1: ` Iris`s

apostrophe next to my Enter: ' Iris's

Just thought you'd like to know! :-)

67667 2002-08-03 22:34:00 Tim Yang has logged on here as:
timyang (deleted with warnings from the moderator)
timyang1
teachme
yankadoodle

It is possible that he/she/it has used other nom de plumes.

The format of his threads go:
an innocent request for information
helpful answers
deteriorating questions and abuse

This indicates that either:
- he/she/it either knows the answers and asked out of sheer spite in order to abuse people or
- IQ level of an idiot.

Suggetion to moderators:
Delete this user on sight
AND Lock all threads so they disappear

67668 2002-08-03 22:46:00 Again, my sentiments exactly Heather . I fully support your suggestion to the moderators .

I think it is highly evident by now that a lot of people's time has been completely wasted on this, er, <delete unprintable noun> "person" .
