| 67923 | 2002-08-03 22:57:00 | I have jpeg files on a laptop(Win 2000) which I want to transfer to my Desktop PC(Win XP). I have a crossover cable and want to use this for a direct transfer without setting up a network. I cannot seem to use Hyperterminal or the File and settings transfer wizard to achieve this . Your help appreciated. | epollock (1326) | ||

Comes with all the necessary software. You can simply connect the USB ports on the two computers, and copy across. John |

If so the adapters will need to have a network set up to allow them to handle data. If a serial or parallel cable, use laplink or similar program, or setup a cable connection under windows (but its a network of sorts) |

This will open the wizard program, click next, choose this is the new computer then click next, select "i don't need the wizard disk . . . . . my old computer . " Then click next, select direct cable and click next, plug in the serial cable to a serial port on each computer then follow the rest of the on screen instructions . This should do it for you . Hope this helps Regards Sam |
