68060 2002-08-04 13:26:00 on the 'doze box"vanessa" Opera is set to www.pressf1.co.nz which is this obscure wee site hosted up in the north island somewhere.
IE: is set to open blank, purely because i find that the best way to stop its start page from turning into custard

I only just set up the new linux box, "sam" (2 hours old) netscape is still set up as netscape.com, but will shortly be set to www.something.net.nz which is the site this box was made to host, and opera will be set to www.pressf1.co.nz, so i don't have to run vanessa, just to come here.

You can't say that this place is slow, fast as, and its got highly customisable information.
Not to mention its not covered with clutter like nzoom, or xtra.
Infact when you look at it, nzoom and xtra, must have the same web design people, they are pretty similar to each other

68064 2002-08-04 22:46:00 I used to use http://home.nzcity.co.nz
My mother and sister still use this, but I now use PressF1 (http://pressf1.co.nz) I also have the Google toolbar installed so I just search when ever I want.

68065 2002-08-04 22:48:00 If there is a different site that I want to go to I go to run and type in the web address from there. This way IE loads but doesn't load the home page.

68068 2002-08-05 02:20:00 My start page is about:blank - I use IE too often to have it open a page every time I open it, both online and offline.

As many have mentioned, if you want to go to a different page each time you start your browser, it negates the need for a single specific site.

If I was organised (like a couple of people I know) I would create a page on my drive with links to the many and various places I go to on a regular basis, but have long addresses - like my isp's webmail page, on-line banking log on page, intranet page that I use lots...

This seems like a good idea, but then I never was organised ;-)
