uses jpeg as the default format

67999 2002-08-04 08:40:00 Do you mean a .pdf file (a scanner would be unlikely to produce a .psf file)
Setup in the scanner software (the way to do it differs with each type of scanner, and there are dozens of makes/typesof software) will usually allow the format to be changed.

68000 2002-08-04 09:01:00 Had a hunt for file extensions on Google. psf appears to be Photo Studio:
www.arcsoft.com

I haven't used this particular program but usually programs like this allow you to either:

- save as jpg or
- export to jpg or
- save for web (jpg or gif)

Ask your friend to look at these options.

68001 2002-08-04 10:45:00 It is a psf file which the scanner sends when directed to email its scanned image. We will give them some idea on how to set another format as default but i gather from the reply that a psf file will not open
as an image for me so will have to be sent again in another format.
