I have a Sony Vaio model VPCF115FG. Until recently I have been able to play the videos found on YouTube and other websites. For no apparent reason I am now unable to do so and having exhausted all possibilities, I am stuck. I do use the laptop to play media on the television, using an HDMI cable this necessitates setting the default playback device to the TV. I have returned the default to the laptop, but this makes no difference. I have also upgraded Java and Adobe Flash. Any suggestions for a remedy would be most welcome. |

What browser are you using? I know that a while ago the latest Flash update wouldn't work on Youtube in Firefox. If you use FF, try a different browser.

Very many thanks, you were right it was the browser. I am using Firefox and after I upgrade to the latest version, all was well. It was the last thing I would have thought of... |
