1308717 2012-10-27 06:17:00 .
I miss the start button when I'm in desktop mode and have yet to figure out how to get to all the programs, accessories etc .

Figured this out . If I put cursor in top right and go to search, and they're all there . Good .
I don't know if 8 is better than 7, but it's new and glitzy . I like that .

1308719 2012-10-27 06:54:00 Yeah same for Windows Key + W

I'm gonna upgrade my main desktop tonight, doing an in-place upgrade rather than a fresh install. Wish me luck :p

1308723 2012-10-27 08:13:00 I downloaded and installed the 90-day trial on another drive...

On a machine that has an SiS 900 Ethernet NIC, Windows 8 didn't have the drivers but after using a USB WiFi adapter I downloaded the Ethernet drivers from Windows update. A bit silly!

Can't say I think much of it, it's just basically Windows 7 with added crap. Windows 7 is better, XP even more so.

1308725 2012-10-27 10:07:00 Linw -- A long shot - just something to try with your IE - press the Windows + R key, type in iexplore -extoff Press Enter, Does it open ?

If you wanted to uninstall, then re-install IE10: go into the control panel / Programs and features/ Turn Windows features on or off, untick IE10, Click OK, restart the PC, go back and tick it again to re-install it.
