You just have to experience it. far better than any roller-coaster ride, AND the price is right! personthingy (1670)
1285671 2012-07-04 20:47:00 Wellington claimed this quake yet it was 170km west of wellington! Next time Ruapehu burps are wellington going to claim it or Auckland? coldfront (15814)
1285672 2012-07-04 21:52:00 Apart from the OP's topic headline, where was/is it claimed as a "Wellington" earthquake? :( Zippity (58)
1285673 2012-07-04 22:44:00 Usually if we get a quake that big we assume it's local. Thanks to science and communications , we are wrong. In fact it's a NZ earthquake The Error Guy (14052)

1285675 2012-07-05 01:31:00 3971That chair must have been not built to earthquake requirement standards or had a structural defect. There needs to be a full enquiry as to why that chair fell over. And before it is replaced, you need to obtain a full Geotech and Engineers report to state it is safe to put a chair back on that location. :) Iantech (16386)

Royal Commission time I think. In the meantime, all chairs must be red stickered until they pass a structural check. Then, the land they were on must be remediated. :D

1285677 2012-07-05 03:11:00 Amazing - I saw that same chair being advertised for the recent Australian 'quake :( :( Zippity (58)
1285678 2012-07-05 03:31:00 Amazing - I saw that same chair being advertised for the recent Australian 'quake :( :( Maybe it was an Australian chair, that would explain why it wasnt up to NZ earthquake standards and fell over. I think Nick is right, a Royal Commission is required. Immagration also needs to be informed to see if it has the right VISA to work here as a chair or was just holidaying in NZ with other chairs.
