| 1285433 | 2012-07-05 10:44:00 | No I don't think so. What Cicero said was unwarranted. :) |

| 1285435 | 2012-07-05 11:58:00 | If I remember correctly Snorkbox was a stickler, for the exact words used in the right way at exactly the right time and would stick to his guns until the person he was clashing with backed down or admitted they were in the wrong. In that way Cicero wasn't being disrespectful, he was recognizing, as do I, a person who is probably close to his heart, certainly mine, whose mother would find at times the insistence on correctness rather tedious especially if having experienced it since when he was a child. I know my own mother has moments when she has had more than enough of my compulsiveness, now and many times in the past. In summary I feel that this may be a certain type of humour which not everyone can recognize and is not really disrespectful rather an accurate assessment and in a way admiring of the person and their determination to be seen as correct whenever possible. |

| 1285436 | 2012-07-05 15:10:00 | Mea culpa. My comment may be misinterpreted by a non-Yank I'm afraid. It was laudatory to Snork and a place-setting for Cic. But I feel it requires a somewhat abbreviated explanation: It was in the days of the old flintlock fouling pieces - dueling pistols to be exact. If one jerked the trigger a miss was more likely. At least with the inaccuracy of those smooth bores, it was somewhat believable if you missed but your opponent didn't. Many headstones were inscribed with: "Flinched, By An Inch" and "Twitched A Wee Too". Unfortunately - and perhaps I am explaining this poorly --- a death leaves some with no amiable way to acknowledge it in a socially acceptable yet public forum and we just flub at making a meaningful, kind and approbative statement when no malice was actually meant. I'm not apologizing for Cic - he can do or not do as he sees fit - but we all handle death in perhaps odd and strange ways in the eyes of others. Just my thoughts after my AM cuppa. . |

| 1285437 | 2012-07-05 20:22:00 | Cicero, you are a jerk. What a thing to say about someone here who has died. There was no need for that comment. Shame on you. Cicero has not posted in the other thread and I doubt has seen the news, so you are reading the comment in the context of information that he doesn't have. May even be banned an unable to reply at this point, but either way I doubt the comment was meant as you have read it. |
