1284817	2012-06-30 06:13:00	Just had yet another call from somewhere in the Far East telling me that my computer was putting out damaging stuff onto the internet. You know the crap - it's been around for a year or two. The difference this time is that they didn't hide their phone number which I thought was a bit strange. I rang it back but Telecom operator said "This number is no longer obtainable, or has changed." I've had calls from this number several times over the last few days with nobody on the end but this time she wanted to chat. When she asked me to turn on my computer I told her I don't have one - Click! The number - 0024 5896 4256	Woody (710)

1284823	2012-07-01 09:04:00	We had a few travel scams or lottery wins. But never any computer scams. I guess like many other things, some people just don't get caught up with the info. Sure it has been on the news but if it is something that is not a concern for you you just don't pay attention and if you colleagues don't talk about IT stuff. They might instead talk about baking or opera. When I went to Thailand for the first time, many people have heard of it but I actually haven't. Sure I bought a Lonely Planet guide and it said watch out for the tuk tuk scams but I wasn't aware of the mechanics. I didn't bother to do a google search b/c I thought that I paid $60 for this guidebook, should be all that I need. None of my friends incl those who live in Thailand said anything to me. They were very convincing, so I got had. They would have one person who talk to you being v friendly and then the driver tries to argue with him ... at the end I got the promised low price which the driver reluctantly agreed to and I was taken to all the places for him to get commission. It was not a normal scam that the driver just approach you directly.	Nomad (952)

I was not saying that you were thick, I meant that I thought that the people making the calls would have realised by now that most people have heard of these scams and would not be fooled, but they don't seem to have grasped that fact.
