68345 2002-08-06 11:53:00 Hey E3 isn't all that bad.

I suggest that you have a look at My 56K E3 Usage (geek.orcon.net.nz) and yes this is done solely on 56K. With most of it being with a winmodem as well. Only the past 2 weeks or so have been with a hardware modem.

68346 2002-08-06 11:54:00 You should be able to get max speed of 5.6k but the thing is people who you are getting the files off from might have limited their bandwidth. So it's not your connection. I'm on 128k cable and sometime i get 1k/s of download. It's not my connection but it's the person who i'm connected to. boom23 (176)
68347 2002-08-06 22:23:00 Come on JM your been a bit misleading. Those figures you have put up show your downloads before e3 crippled p2p connections. p2p connections are lucky to have been cripplied for about a month now. and ur showing figures from a few months ago.
ALso you tend to be a regular user of p2p.net.nz aren't you? As far as i know e3 hasn't caught onto crippling that port yet.
But if you were to use winmx or kazza etc, you would notice that downloads are actualy capped at arount 1.5kbs.
Were you also the same person that was having problems with your winmodem and e3???? with it practically pausing once connected?
I can tell you that i was with e3 had the same problem, i'm now with another company and have had no such problem.

68348 2002-08-06 22:31:00 Yes, I have phoned up e3, and they have confirmed they are crippling downloads of music. They are also ripping me off, by charging me an extra month now I want to cancel stpnc (1142)
68349 2002-08-07 00:09:00 ah, welcome to the fun with e3. I thought they were good, until they decided to start taking money off my credit card, because they forgot to take it out from August last year. Then they crippled downloads, then they raised their prices.
SO really they have gone to poos.

However they do have the right to charge you for the next month. This is because you have to give notice of something like a month in advance, which means you'd be in the next billing cycle. It is the same at any ISP.
However it's only $17.95 so it's not worth loosing any sleep over.

68350 2002-08-07 13:08:00 Well a lot of that was not done with p2p programs. But yes some of it was. Also a lot of my usage is emailing/ftping files between here and college. -=JM=- (16)
