2002-08-05 09:48:00 | I have installed kazaa lite on my computer and also on a friend's computer. It works OK on his computer. He is getting download speeds ten times faster than what I am getting. Mostly I am getting less than 0.20Kb/s. I suspect that people have been hacking into my computer. Would that somehow be the reason for the slow speeds? I am very disappointed. | stpnc (1142) | |
2002-08-05 09:52:00 | What sort of internet connection do you have? Did you do the comparisons at the same time? Was the rest of the internet slow?

2002-08-05 09:58:00 | JM - I have a 56 k modem. dialup. I did the comparisons at the same time. The rest of the internet was OK. I have actually tried to use kazaa lite about 30 times and I always have the problem. | stpnc (1142) | |
2002-08-05 10:22:00 | Do you have different ISP's? Some ISP's "manage" P2P connections restricting them according to network conditions at the time. Jetstart in particular attracts heavy restrictions (or so I'm led to believe)

2002-08-05 12:38:00 | Were you downloading the same file? from the same user? There is this one user I was downloading many music files from, I was getting great speed of him too. When I try to download a TV Ep of some series I usually get horrible speeds. Depends on what user on kazza your getting it from (might be wrong in my understanding on how p2p works....so if i'm wrong someone correct me lol)

2002-08-06 08:43:00 | Roofus - Thanks alot. I am with e3, so it looks as though you've hit on the answer. - stpncn | stpnc (1142) | |
2002-08-06 10:32:00 | I am with Xtra (dial-up + 2 lines) I just load up Kazaa with what I want, and let it do its thing. If I get bugger all downloads a day, cool - If I get heaps, even better.
