68927 2002-08-07 02:20:00 I have just received an E-mail from some outfit in the U.S. offering me Nortons Systemworks 2000 Professional for $US30. No manuals, just a registerable CD. Does anyone know if this is a trap for the ignorant or a genuine good deal? kbcad (1025)
68928 2002-08-07 02:33:00 Is the email from quickinspirations.com, if so welcome to the world of receiving lots of spam.

I've received the same email now about 10 times and generally go with the notion that if it sounds to good to be true its a rip off.

I added the them to my block senders list, also found that if you delete everything before the @ sign in email address is better as they change email address slightly each time.

cheers

68930 2002-08-07 05:45:00 you don't mention the sellers name so hard to say if it is a ripoff, but US$30 sounds way to much if these are OEM disks. I bought some of these last year from Fischer Enterprises in the US for $9.95!!!
NSW 2000 will run fine on everything but XP for this you will need 2002

68931 2002-08-07 06:10:00 the trouble with nsw2000 is symantec no longer support it and old antivirus apps tend to be poor at catching current viruses. one of sysmantecs updates, updates it the engine to 2001 due to it not picking up some viruses. in a year or so it wont be worth the cd its on.

keep with the latest (even if its a free one).
