68900 2002-08-07 05:41:00 Curious as to know what the difference between a search "engine" and a search "crawler" is? Veale (536)
68901 2002-08-07 05:49:00 A search "crawler" crawls around search "engines" godfather (25)
68902 2002-08-07 05:55:00 E=mc2, ?:|, by this I presume a crawler gathers info from a variety of engines, correct? Veale (536)
68903 2002-08-07 06:03:00 Veale, Yup when you make a request of/through a metacrawler it searches multiple search engines to return the results Babe Ruth (416)
68904 2002-08-07 06:04:00 Got a confession to make: that site you're referring to, dipstick, was listed by someone else yesterday or the day before in another post and I can't remember which one to give the guy the credit.

Anyway, here's another good one for Windows tips that I found today while pruning some files:

CyberWalker Windows Tips and Tricks (www.cyberwalker.net).

I have a list of good links nearly ready to post as a FAQ, must get it done very soon. Just have to verify that the links are still valid.

68905 2002-08-07 06:13:00 For all you demons who say "load a new driver", here's a local source. Drivers On-Line (http://drivers.on-line.net.nz) is run by a shop in Christchurch. You can serach by FCC ID, PCI vendor, Plug and Play ID, model number, part filename, or description. Says they have "checked 8484 drivers from 957 vendors".

It's much less cluttered than driverq etc.
