| 68796 | 2002-08-06 16:25:00 | i have an entry in the Tools that i want to get rid of, i have an idea how it got there, because what the option does is takes me back to this site that i downloaded a program off, and i think they added code into the program so that it would put a link to their site in my tools menu. how would i get rid of it? its been there since i had ie5.5, but even after installing ie6, its still there grtz sal |

| 68797 | 2002-08-06 21:07:00 | <lecture>That's not much information for us sal, you'll have to do better than that. And I bet you knew it was a dodgy program before you downloaded it. That's what you get for staying up playing on the computer all night.</lecture> Have you deleted the program or is it still on your machine? Have you done a scan with AdAware? Have you looked for it in the registry? Might be a bit tricky editing the registry to try and remove it though. If you have removed the program use a regcleaner and maybe that will remove it. |

| 68798 | 2002-08-07 00:01:00 | I recently had a simimlar problem after removing a trial version of neotrace, it left 'neotrace it' in the right click menu and an option to add icon in toolbar. I got rid of it by using regcleaner, but first had to remove internet explorer from the ignore list (found under options/registry cleanup/ignore list). cheers |
