69434 2002-08-08 11:34:00 I have received some Access 200 files but only have Access 97 so I can't view them. Does anyone know if Microsoft created a viewer for Access 97 to view Access 2000 files.
I have tried searching Microsofts site but haven't found anything yet

69435 2002-08-08 18:26:00 Only Word and Excel viewers are available as far as I am aware.

An Access viewer would be close to a full copy of access I guess, as usually viewing the raw database files would not suffice.

69436 2002-08-08 23:29:00 Hi Mahi, I have not heard of a conversion program either. If you have access to Access 2000, then you can save the file downwards to a 97 format.

To do this select Tools-Database Utilities-Convert Database

Note the you may still have problems even after conversion. I have written some VBA code on Access 2000 at home (and converted down to A97) then had problems at work (ver 97) when opening the file. The main problem was the switchboard of all things, code which I never wrote myself but is generated by a function within Access. Bizarre considering the code is written by Microsoft themselves. Enough said :-)

Maybe others can give some pointers to help?
