69172 2002-08-07 10:18:00 I have just replaced the hard drive in my old P233mmx with a 40G samsung drive. My bios can't detect this, and I have been told this could be that the bios isn't set up to recognise disks of this size. alimac (1388)

That would be correct. You may be able to go to the hard drive's manufacturers site and download a program that might make it possible to run the drive in your PC, but I'd be surprised if it'd take anything more than 32gb (might recognise your HDD as a 32gb even).

69174 2002-08-07 12:25:00 Hi Alimac,

I had a similar problem with my Seagate 40Gb hard drive. I went to the Samsung site and found this: Hard Disk Drive Support (www.samsungelectronics.com) Download and install the Disk Manager program and you should be able to access all the drive OK. It works fine with my Seagate drive.
