69097 2002-08-08 04:10:00 Before trying to do any modifications to your computer Teachme, please unplug it from the wall to avoid electric shocks.

Put the Windows ME disk in first though

69098 2002-08-08 04:29:00 Okay, In short, in my knowledge, it can't be don't without totally screwing your system,. Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
To partition without losing information, You'll need Partition Magic, abut It'd cost about the same as a windows CD though, so youre better off simply buying one, like from the Trade-And-Exchange.
Try:
http://www.trade-exchange.co.nz
You can pick up a copy there real cheap, even if it's not the original (Not the best thing to preach, but nm... )
Sorry 2 be the one 2 kill the idea, but It shouldn't cost much, but this way if your ever stuck on your computer, you know that you do have a CD that you cn turn to should things get really messy, as things usually do with these guys ;)
Maybe you parents could help put money towards it, try to convince them that without it, somethings gonna blow the house up maybe, I've done that before and that works!!!! (Just kidding)
Anyways, You'll need to get a CD, you will then go on to live a happy and care-free life

69099 2002-08-08 04:57:00 Some of you might want to do an attitude check. I know Tim has been a pain and might deserve some rough treatment, but jokes about breaking his wrists and sawing his HD in half don't exactly give you the moral high ground. Plus you might consider this - the thread will be viewed by plenty of people unfamiliar with the Tim saga and all they will see, upon viewing a thread supposedly about moving windows to another partition, is a bunch of you dumping on some guy and frankly, acting like pricks. An "innocent" viewing this thread will be left with a much poorer impression of some of you than they will Tim.

If it was Tim's intention to get this kind of response (which frankly, is not evident in his post in this thread), then he has succeeded. If you don't want to offer decent advice to him, that's fine, just abstain from posting.

69100 2002-08-08 05:54:00 Fair enough Buce, and point taken. In defence I also believe it's a matter of opinion to what some of us posting consider funny you obviously don't. Robo seemed quite happy considering he made a funny comment himself and didn't start posting a "hang on fellas, calm it down" post.

You are quite right though that people unfamiliar with past goings on would find this a bit strange. My apologies if I have upset anyone and I will refrain from making such comments in future.

69102 2002-08-08 09:11:00 I Have been trying to keep my head out of this timyang stuff but i must say he comes across as a pain in the ^$$.

I do think the best way to deal with this is to have a moderater lock any thred he starts and the rest of us just walk away for anything he throws at us.

more that just anoying us he is likely to start thread of abuse and in fighiting and i have seen that sort of thing bring a forum like this down.

we need to make new people feel welcome and not look at them and say "look a new user with a silly name who types like timyang... lets get him!!"

just my 2c worth :-)
