69232 2002-08-07 21:51:00 I notice in this months PRESS F1 a writer was told to right click in Favorites and click "sort by name". I don't get any such option. I have never seen such an option.
I'll ask his question again. How do I sort favorites alphabetically?

69233 2002-08-07 21:55:00 Are you using IE? If so, that is how you do it. Click on the favourites drop down, right click on one of the entries, and choose "Sort By Name" which is at the bottom. honeylaser (814)
69234 2002-08-07 21:58:00 Depending on how many pages you have in your favorites list, may depend on wheather you want to do this. go to the favorites menu and click Organise Favorites; Then drag the names of the pages into the order that you want them. This may be in alpahnumeric order or not,
Out of curiosity, what version of windows do you have, I don't think the right click and sort came until windows 98 SE.

69235 2002-08-07 22:05:00 It works in Win98.

Go to the Start Menu's Favorites and do it there - don't just right click on the Favorites icon, right click on one of the actual favorites shortcuts.

69236 2002-08-07 22:33:00 It still does not work. It has never worked. I am useing XP. It did not work in 2000 or 98. I refuse to believe it works at all.
I am writing this in the open IE page and a long list of favorites is open at the side of the page. If I right click on any name, or anywhere in the column I get a menu that starts with open and finishes with properties. And nothing in between looks remotely like SORT.

69237 2002-08-07 22:37:00 have you tried right clicking on a favorite in the favorites menu in the Start Menu not in the Favorites list in IE NathanTheKind (472)
69238 2002-08-07 22:45:00 Yes. And I get exactly the same menu. Jack JJJJJ (528)
69239 2002-08-07 22:48:00 Jack, Sorry I didn't catch which browser you are using on XP?

69240 2002-08-07 22:50:00 One of my machines is running IE 6 on XP and it works fine. Perhaps you need to upgrade your IE to the latest? (Providing you are running an old version)

Download IE6 here (www.microsoft.com).
