69163 2002-08-07 09:51:00 My mother sent me an ad from a UK paper . "Master your computer in 2 hours for only £10 .

Now you come up with this for free .

Damn . Now why did I go to Tech again? Obviously I've been wasting my evenings over the last 6 years . . . .

NO! Tech is NOT a waste of time :) I just got turned down for an IT position because "One of the requirements for the position is a tertiary IT qualification". :( I don't have one... I probably know and can do more than the guy with the degree that they hire, but because I don't have a bunch of fancy letter after my name, I have to stay on the stupid dole even longer :(

Mike.

69166 2002-08-07 10:30:00 Well Mike, I could have sent you a link for a degree from a non-accredited university - except I deleted the email.

Last year, even WITH qualifications AND experience I couldn't get past the employment agencies. Not enough of the "right" experience etc, etc.

Finally ended up with a part time job that tends to suit me but there were a few months (or so) there where I doubted the value of ANYTHING I knew.

Keep trying, it will happen.
