| 69800 | 2002-08-09 23:49:00 | I use Windows ME (Drive C) and have two 40gig hard drives. Have successfully run Scandisk Thorough and Disk Defragmenter on Drive D which holds data only. Have run Scandisk Standard on Drive C with no problem, but ScanDisk Thorough gives message that it has tried to start ten times but can't contiunue "because Windows or another programme has been writing to this drive". Defragmenter runs, but after more than an hour stilll has 0% completed (gets to 1% and then goes back to 0%). Have shut down all other programs using Ctl/Alt/Delete, but still get same outcome. No problems on Drive C with any other programmes. |

| 69801 | 2002-08-09 23:58:00 | Hi murraygough, You will find it better to do these clean-up jobs in 'Safe-Mode'as you obviously still have an app running? Have a look at the FAQ,s(top right of PressF1 screen) for tips on this subject. Cheers,Kiwitas,;-) |
