2002-08-10 23:43:00 | I received an attachment to an email which bore the extension wps. Although the symbol was a W similar to Microsoft Word I presume this may be Word Perfect? I am running MS Office. Is there anyway of opening this attachment please? Thanks Smurf

2002-08-11 00:14:00 | It is MS Works. Check out the post a few down "Viewing .wks documents without Microsoft Works". That one is about Works spreadsheets whilst your one is about the Works word processor. You may need to use your Office disk to install Works convertors.

Selelct the "All files" options from the open document dialogue screen. Point Word to the Works document. Hope that helps. |

2002-08-11 00:53:00 | But MSWord is NOT a spreadsheet and will not make sense of a .wks spreadsheet. Try opening an excel sheet in word if you want a demo... | godfather (25) | |
2002-08-11 00:58:00 | Godfather, Are you into the gin? THIS post is about .wps - a word processed document. The LAST post was about .wks - spreadsheets... Word SHOULD open .wps IF the convertors are installed

2002-08-11 01:00:00 | If the file extension was .wks then it would be a Works spreadsheet file, but the extension in question is a .wps file which is a Works document and as such Word is the one to open it with. | Neelyar (973) | |
