70036 2002-08-10 23:12:00 I get cut off fairly often when I'm online, It's a nighmare to download files. Does anyone know of a program that can continue downloading instead of starting again?? Helga (1437)
70037 2002-08-10 23:27:00 I used to use one called (I think) GET RIGHT........ I think it was available from C.Net or, Downloads.com

Its so long since I have used a program like this, that hopefully someone else can point you in the direction of something more up-to-date

70038 2002-08-10 23:30:00 I should have asked, how come you get disconnected all the time from the net...... have you thought of adjusting your properties? Maybe you could post back why and how you are getting kicked.

It maybe more prudent to fix up that side of things, than download a program.

70040 2002-08-11 00:24:00 I was getting a similar problem from my favourite site, not being cut off from the ISP, but the download bombing out 5 seconds before completing getting 8MB of file, probably due to problems at the site.

So I've downloaded Fresh Download from:
http://www.freshdevices.com

It's free. no ads etc, all you have to do is to register (free) to get a code.
I've used it, but as with Murphies law havent had an interruption yet, so I cant say how well it will resume downloads.

70041 2002-08-11 00:46:00 Helga. I run a program called "Download Accelerator Plus-DAP" which has a "Resume" function built in. If, on the odd occasion I lose my connection the download continues from where it stopped. Cannot recall where I got it from other than it was on the net as a download. Google perhaps?

70043 2002-08-11 12:38:00 http://www.opera.com supports resuming. It's a nice little browser and email checker too! :D Elwin Way (229)
70044 2002-08-12 01:17:00 getright is a good download manager that allows resumes
download it from www.getright.com or download.com

70045 2002-08-12 03:34:00 Terry is right. Fresh Download works well, has no Ads or spywear, and also has a resume function that works if you are cut off. Download Accelerator Plus also works well, but, has spyware and quite obtrusive Ads. Tom B. (864)
