Take a chess board, put 1grain of corn on the first square, two on the next etc doubling each time for the 64 squares. Do you remember getting "Lines" at school for punishment? One school I went to had this instead of "Lines". We had to work it out by hand/head, no calculators then. If you got it wrong it had to be done again. Good for mental arithmatic tho.
