| 70081 | 2002-08-11 01:53:00 | Hi all, was wondering if anybody had any ideas on this: My friend is going overseas in a week and we wanted to use messenger like we have been up till now on his xp computer. He has got a new laptop and has messenger on it but is running windows 2000 (special edition i think?) Anyway using his laptop we can use the chat but when we try to initiate video it says at his end he needs xp - is the video feature something specific to xp? Which doesn't make sense?? I thought if we both had the same version of messenger we would be o.k, but apparently not? Any ideas on this fellow F1'ers ?? He is dropping it off here soon for me to try and suss out - i thought that maybe we might need to use netmeeting as an alternative, but will that work? Please any help would be appreciated as time is running out before he leaves!! P.s - i am using XP myself. |
