| 70274 | 2002-08-11 12:49:00 | Hey.....I am having a problem with Win XP Pro... I start it up and when it is on the desktop i cant open ANY application for about 1-1:30. I don't have any antivirus as i have just formatted and reinstalled. The internet connection and all the control panel applications are among the apps that aren't available until the min or so is up. When i go to Alt-Ctrl-Del and look at the processes...they are all 00 except for System Idle which is avout 98-99. I have 385 Megs RAM and 950 MHZ! If i click on ie. "Connect to Xtra", it doesnt do anything at all and i click it again and again and again still nothing happens.......about a min later there is about 100 connect to boxes there;) O well any sugggestions:):) Cheers Tim |

| 70275 | 2002-08-11 13:21:00 | Are you connected to a LAN? If you are go to my networking places. Click view connections and right click on the LAN connection and disable it. Try restarting the computer. If it boots up without pausing on startup you know that it is the network causing the problem. To fix this you will have to reconfigure your LAN connection. I reccomend this site for information on how to do this. www.practicallynetworked.com |
