| 70782 | 2002-08-13 11:51:00 | I just tried out an Intel ham modem but had problems with it so went back to my old Lucent win modem. I used to be able to connect at 52000 bps every time, but now whenever I try to connect my modem makes "handshake" noises twice and will only connect at 31200 bps. Same modem and drivers as before, and I know it's not my line or ISP. Any ideas?? |

Windows should detect the correct one and reinstall the proper drivers. You could also check your modem properties and make sure maximum connection speed is set to max. |
