| 70605 | 2002-08-13 07:41:00 | Why cant I view a .bat file in outlook express. It seems to be a sound file but crashes (win98se) each time i try 2 open it. Also, some freaks are sending me crap that appears 2 be a standard file but crashes when i try to open it. (rock.exe ??) | aragorn (1475) | ||
| 70606 | 2002-08-13 07:43:00 | NEVER double click. Save as, then take a look at the file first. A BAT file is likely to be dodgy, open it in an editor first (like wordpad or notepad), don't run it. Be safe. Turn on viewing file extensions too. robo. |

| 70607 | 2002-08-13 08:00:00 | A BAT file is a DOS Batch file, and these should NEVER be run until you know the contents. View them with Notepad, they are text commands for DOS. If it contained a command such as: (by way of example) C:\ Deltree *.* Your system could be toast.... |

| 70610 | 2002-08-13 09:06:00 | Rock.exe is the sign of one variant of the Klez Virus. PLEASE run a check of your system using on-line scanning tools as it also deactivates your anti-virus software |
