71150 2002-08-14 23:19:00 Hullo folks,

I have just interfaced a PSX controller with my parallel port cos there's no joystick port on my laptop.

I works okay under windows, using DirectX, but of course it don't work in DOS.

Any ideas on getting DOS to see it?

71151 2002-08-14 23:47:00 Try looking on the net for some drivers that a developer has made, check www.gdse.com this has a few PSX developers sites which may offer some help. You could try some generic DOS drivers, which might also work but won't support all the features of the controller.

I'm interested to know how you managed to attach the controller to the parallel port.

Easily done if you know how to solder and know what a 1N914 is. :D

Just get a parallel plug and solder the PSX wires to it with the diodes.

If you want I'll send you a circuit diagram and some software to get it going.
