| 71312 | 2002-08-15 10:44:00 | Ok... this is getting really frustrating. Is there anybody out there using Ihug Ultra with Windows XP? This problem keeps recurring - the Ultra connection only works for a few minutes and it stops receiving for no known reason. I've reinstalled XP a couple of times now and initially things seem to be working fine but after a while the same problem happens again. I've tried cheking the Ihug website to no avail. I've tried tweaking the network settings but still no joy. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the SM200d application and drivers and still the same. I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but since installing and running Kazaa and maybe WinMX, this problems started. But I can see no scientific or even logical reason for that. And I think on one of my previous installation of XP, it made no difference when I uninstalled Kazaa. And there's nothing wrong with the modem 'cos I can still connect to Clear without any problems. Just as well I have this as a backup. Any bright ideas? I haven't tried calling the Ihug help desk yet since from past experience, they don't seem to have a solution for these sort of problems. Many thanks in advance. |

If you sucessfully run your ihug connection for a good period of time. run msconfig again and turn on 1 item in the list, again test your connection. Eventually you will eliminate any background software and you can start looking for other possibles. | ecko_nzed (652) | ||
