| 71174 | 2002-08-15 00:54:00 | My computer on its own, is going ahead and automatically connecting to the mail server Actrix. I have checked connection settings under properties and nothing is out of the normal. I installed Nortons Utilities yesterday and wonder if this has started something off? Any ideas on how to get the computer to connect only on my manual command please. The problem is happenning on a continuous basis probably about every 15 minutes or so maybe sooner. Thanks |

| 71176 | 2002-08-15 02:13:00 | Do you mean it is dialing in and connecting on its own or do you mean while you are connected it logs into the mail server. If the first - Go to ControlPanel/Network Connections Click on Advanced from the menu at the top and select Dialup Preferences Uncheck "Enable Autodial from Location" If the second - With Outlook Express open select Tools/Options Uncheck "Check for new messages every xx mins" |
