| 70995 | 2002-08-14 07:40:00 | Hi all, after recently reading about the Toshiba laptops with desktop CPUs in them and the overheating problems plaguing them, I am interested in the experiences of other users. I am about to buy a laptop and I have two choices: Compaq Evo 1000v with an Intel 2Ghz P4 Desktop CPU or a Compaq Evo 8000v with an Intel 1.7 Ghz Mobile CPU. Now the battery life is not an issue as I will only use mains. What I am interested in is whether the Desktop CPU option is likely to end up with overheating problems. Has anyone had experience with either of these models or similar experiences? I welcome any feedback because I'd like to buy wisely. |

I suspect that yours is a desktop one but if you are not experiencing problems like lock-ups yet you are running it for long periods then it is encouraging for me. When I find out I will let you know. |
