| 71664 | 2002-08-16 11:01:00 | If MS hadn't poked their finger in Corel's pie we could probably still have Wordperfect on Linux. Wordperfect has a "Make it Fit" function on the format menu. Yesterday after hearing that Word had a similar function I did a hunt for it. They call it "Shrink to Fit" but guess where they put it. You click on Print preview and then a button when there. Who was the twit who thought of putting it there! I doubt that many people would even know about the function because of where they put it. The WP function has far better control than the word version. That was Word 2000 I don't know about Word XPee. |

| 71665 | 2002-08-16 11:32:00 | Shrink to fit is really handy and it is in a really convenient location in Word 2000/2002 in my opinion. What better place than in the print preview where you view whole pages at a time and can easily see how long your document is. Would be good if it adjusted margins as well as opposed to just changing the size of text. |

You have the number of pages the document is down at the bottom of the document so I see no need to view it in print preview. In WP you can choose to use font size/ line spacing / Top ,Bottom, Right or left margins as well as the desired number of pages. |
