71654 2002-08-16 09:01:00 Hi

I've got an acer dvp 1640a dvd drive and I've had it for two years and finally I got my first dvd and I put it in my drive and then I get the message "no disk in drive".

I tried to download power dvd as I thought it might help, but it didn't.

The funny thing is it can read:

CDR Disks
Music CDs
even dvd data disks.

I want to watch movies please help.

ps:
Windows XP pro
P3 733
384mb ram
bla bla

71655 2002-08-16 09:07:00 A dvd drive can only play a dvd movie if you have either a hardware dvd decoder or a software one. What program are you trying to play the movie through??? godfather (25)

But the computer wouldn't even detect a disk had been inserted
