71563 2002-08-19 08:39:00 People, this is not the only board in the world . . .

I used to be a member of MFI (MacFixIt) but got fed up with all the bickering and arguing and mud slinging going on and all the time the people who were asking genuine questions were getting ignored .

I think we all need to get back to basics . This board was started by IDG & PCWorld (correct me if I'm wrong here) to provide a free service to people who were having computer problems .

I doubt very much their intention was to provide a community gathering were people could speak their minds about various topics etc

I know I am just as guilty, but I originally came here to see if I could help, because it's the only way that, in my position (unemployed and a dole bludger), I can put back something into the community .

Instead I get mouthed off at, insulted, ignored and made fun of .

If you want to do this, fine, a good place to start would be Nexus ( . koenigartemis . co . nz/cgi-bin/login . cgi" target="_blank">nexus . koenigartemis . co . nz), where they do this for sport . But expect to get flamed for posting urban myths .

When woz this brother.... I have never seen anyone on here mouth/insult/ignore or make fun of you.

1- I'm going back a bit and from another alias which I have dropped since being insulted .
