| 72015 | 2002-08-17 13:01:00 | I have recently formatted c drive and installed windows Me. When windows Me starts up it goes into a sort greyish screen, apart from the icons which are still in colour. It looks as if it is in safe mode when it is actually not. I've tried pushing F8 just before the WinMe logo and using the startup disk. Every windows that I open have a sort of dotted white border around it. The desktop is set to the colour blue but it shows up grey. I can't change the screen size in display in control panel, it is set at 680 by 480 pixels at the moment. Does anyone know how to fix this? | michael8 (1529) | ||

Try reloading your drivers and also try using the add new hardware feature in your control panel, you may have a conflict or there may be a Display adapter that has not been detected or loaded. A good place to start hunting for these is either the OEM cd that you got with your computer or the cd/floppy that came with your video card. | dipstick01 (445) | ||
