| 71865 | 2002-08-17 04:04:00 | Hi I've got a Celeron 333Mhz, 192Mb RAM, Win98, currently with a Voodoo3 2000 AGP card installed. I'm trying to squeeze as much gaming life out of it before I have to enter domestic negotiations to buy the 2Ghz/512Mb/GeForce4 ti4600 replacement....... ....so what I would like to know is if I replace the card how far should I upgrade before the CPU/RAM becomes the performance bottleneck? Is there an easy way to work this out? Also a DirectX question: If I had DX7 drivers and DX8 installed, but played only games requiring DX7 - would that work ok? Or if I install DX8 am I committed to getting drivers and/or a card that supports it? Thanks Mike |
